Final exams, and certificates that show what it took

Run a quiz as a final exam with attempt limits, and give certificates that show credits or CPD hours, a signature, small print and the real completion date, in one of seven designs, edited on the page and downloadable as a PDF.

What’s changed

Quizzes showed answers question by question with unlimited attempts, and certificates had one design and fixed wording. Now you can run a proper final exam and give certificates that carry what the course took.

Who gets itEvery school

How it works

  1. In a quiz’s settings, turn on Final exam and choose Attempts allowed.
  2. Open your course’s Certificate page: pick a style, then click any part of the certificate to edit its wording, credits, signature or small print, and Save.
  3. Students download their certificate as a PDF from its page.
  4. In Students, Download CSV exports course records or every quiz attempt.

Good to know

  • Final exams hide answers and show the score when submitted. If a student runs out of tries, Allow another try gives them one more.
  • Certificates show the date the student finished, not the day it was issued, and keep their wording, score and style once issued.
  • Monolith is free on every plan; the other six styles are Pro. CSV exports are Pro.
  • PDFs are a single landscape page, A4 or US Letter by your school’s country.
