- Knola is an AI course platform that you pay for once: $97 for Solo or $197 for Studio. Teachable is a monthly subscription from $39 a month ($29 a month billed yearly), with a 7.5% fee on every sale on Starter.
- Knola checkout also takes 7.5% of each sale. There are two ways to 0%: sell through your own checkout, or add Knola Pro ($37/month). On Teachable, the way to 0% is Builder at $89 a month.

Questions about Knola and Teachable
Does Teachable take a percentage of sales?
On Starter, yes: Teachable takes 7.5% of every sale, on top of card processing. Builder ($89 a month) and higher plans have a 0% Teachable fee. Knola checkout takes 7.5% too, but you can sell through your own checkout for 0%, or add Knola Pro ($37/month) to remove the fee.
Does Teachable have a free plan?
No. Teachable no longer offers a free plan. Its cheapest plan, Starter, is a monthly subscription with a 7.5% fee on sales.
What happens to my Teachable course if I stop paying?
Teachable’s help centre says your school is taken offline after your plan ends, and your students lose access to the content in your school. Student subscriptions can also keep charging for up to 30 days unless you cancel them. On Knola there is nothing to stop paying: pay once and your course stays online.
Is Knola really a one-time payment?
Yes. You pay once for a licence. If you sell through Knola’s checkout, Knola takes 7.5% of each sale. Use your own checkout and Knola takes nothing. Knola Pro ($37/month) is optional and removes the fee.
Can I move my Teachable course to Knola?
Yes. Download your videos and files from Teachable and upload them to Knola, and Knola transcribes the videos and drafts the lessons. Then paste in your student list: Knola enrols every student and emails them an invite. Got a big course? Get in touch through our help page and we will help you plan the move.
Can I sell ebooks and downloads, not just courses?
Yes. Turn your lessons into ebooks, worksheets and checklists with AI, or upload your own files, then sell them on their own, as an order bump, or bundled with a course. Buyers get their download straight after checkout.
Does Knola do email marketing like Teachable’s Builder plan?
Not yet, but this is on the way and in the final stages of testing.
Can my students learn on their phones?
Yes. Knola works in any phone or desktop browser. There is no separate app to download. If your students need a native iOS or Android app, Teachable has one.
Do I have to use Knola’s AI?
No. The AI is there when you want it, never required. If you have already made your course, upload your videos, PDFs and files, write and arrange the lessons yourself, add quizzes and certificates, and sell it with Knola’s checkout.
